Group Visits

Sulgrave Manor is an ideal destination for group visits, offering an educational and engaging experience for all visitors. Whether you are part of a school, a historical society or a tourist group, Sulgrave Manor caters to the needs and interests of your organisation. Group bookings can be tailored to the specific requirements of your group.

Each group visit begins with an introductory talk, providing a comprehensive overview of the manor's history and significance. This talk sets the stage for the guided tour, offering essential context and highlighting key points of interest. During this introduction, visitors will learn about the manor’s construction, its architectural features and its historical importance. Special emphasis is placed on the manor's connection to the Washington family, tracing its lineage and exploring its role in both British and American history.

Following the introductory talk, our experienced guide takes guests on a carefully planned tour of the manor. The tour includes visits to all of our rooms and exhibits, with detailed explanations of how the rooms were used. Our guide highlights specific artefacts, providing insights into their historical context and significance. Sharing stories about the people who lived and worked at the manor, we re-imagine Sulgrave through the ages.

The tour is interactive, with ample opportunities for visitors to ask questions, engage in discussions, and delve deeper into the manor's rich history. After the tour, groups are invited to enjoy light refreshments in a private space. Visitors are welcome to stay on-site for as long as they like to explore the gardens and to access the George Washington exhibition.

Group visits must be booked in advance using the form. We offer group bookings from Wednesday – Friday. Bespoke arrangements can be accommodated, so please let us know your requirements and we will do our best to meet them.
